Russian political scientist: Czech Republic now perceived as part of “Axis of Evil”
The Czech Republic is now perceived in Russia as part of the „Axis of Evil“ and relations between the two countries will continue to deteriorate, Russian political scientist Andrej Kolesnikov from Carnegie Moscow Centre said for the ctk news agency.
Kolesnikov said that the scandal in which the Czech side accused the Russian intelligence service of having committed a terrorist attack on Czech soil, and expelled 18 Russian agents, is seen as a part of the broader conflict Russia has with the EU and the US.
He said Moscow was warning individual EU member states against acting in solidarity with the Czech Republic. Slovakia announced on Thursday it was expelling three Russian diplomats in connection with the affair.
