Remains of nine WWII victims returned to Czechia
An army aircraft has brought to Prague the remains of nine Czechoslovak citizens who died during World War II. The fallen include paratroopers from the Iridium and Bronse groups, a resistance politician from Kolín, and two members of the State Defense Guard murdered by Sudeten German militias in 1938. Their coffins, draped in national flags, were received with military honors at Kbely airbase. A state ceremony will take place on September 12 at Prague’s Vítkov memorial, where the heroes will be posthumously awarded the Cross of State Defense before being handed over to families or hometowns for burial.
