Pubs to sue government over forced closure
A group of Czech pubs say they are planning to sue the government over Covid-19 restrictions under which they have been ordered to close. The hostelries, led by the brewery Malý Janek, say the move infringes on their liberty as protected by the Czech constitution.
On Tuesday they launched a petition aimed at both restaurant operators and small business owners.
A representative of the group said that between 70 and 120 pubs were now open in contravention of the government measure, which was reintroduced last Friday.
