Prix Bohemia

This week the small spa town of Podebrady, just east of Prague, is hosting the annual Prix Bohemia. These are the Czech Republic's top radio awards, given to programmes made by Czech radio stations in three different categories: features, children's programmes and musical sketches. The Prix Bohemia are a celebration of a medium that tends to be ignored in favour of the more flashy world of television, but the awards are a timely reminder that radio in the Czech Republic, with a tradition going back nearly eighty years, is alive and well. I'm joined now by David Vaughan, who was in Podebrady on Monday. David, I gather that you weren't just there as an observer.
