Price of electronic motorway vignettes to go up next year

Electronic motorway vignettes will jump in price at the start of next year, giving drivers only a few more days to buy them at a lower price, the ctk news agency writes. The annual stamp for cars with standard petrol, diesel and LPG engines will increase by CZK 140 to CZK 2,440 from 1 January. Thirty-day ones will cost CZK 460, ten-day ones CZK 290 and one-day ones CZK 210. Owners of natural gas or biomethane vehicles will continue to pay only 50 percent of the price of the electronic vignette. Drivers of plug-in hybrids will pay a quarter of the price. Zero-emission electric or hydrogen vehicles can still use highways without a fee. The vignette can be purchased up to 30 days before the selected start date.
