President to attend lower house session on Czechia’s defense capabilities

President Petr Pavel will attend an extraordinary session of the Chamber of Deputies on Wednesday which is to deal with a functional concept for the Czech armed forces through 2035. Pavel will cut short his visit to the Pilsen region, to attend the meeting at the invitation of the assembly’s chairwoman Markéta Pekarová Adamová. The meeting was called by deputies of the opposition ANO party who emphasized the need for a professional and open debate on modernizing and boosting the Czech Republic’s defense capabilities.
