Chamber of Deputies to debate opposition proposal to remove the assembly’s chairwoman from her post

The Chamber of Deputies will meet next week to debate a proposal to remove the assembly’s chairwoman, Markéta Pekarová Adamová from her post. The proposal was tabled by the opposition parties, ANO and Freedom and Direct Democracy, who claim that Pekarová Adamová does not preside over sessions of the lower house in a non-partisan manner, acts in favour of the ruling coalition in disputed situations and violates the rules of procedure. According to MPs from the ruling parties, the coalition is considering proposing the dismissal of one of the two deputy speakers of the house for ANO, Karel Havlíček, in a tit-for-tat move.
