Prague Sounds festival gets underway

The Prague Sounds festival gets underway in the Czech capital on Thursday evening. The event will offer a series of five concerts taking place on a floating stage on the Vltava River.

The opening show will feature the legendary Czech singer and composer Jiří Suchý and the Semafor Theatre Orchestra performing a selection of songs with a water theme.

The festival’s highlight will be Saturday’s concert of the internationally acclaimed cellist Yo-Yo Ma, who will perform a series of six solo cello suites by Johan Sebastian Bach.
