Prague hotels see rise in tourist numbers last year

A total of 8.27 million guests stayed in Prague last year, up 2.6 percent year on year, according to the Czech Statistical Office. Most visitors came from abroad, although the number of domestic tourists also increased. Foreign guests accounted for 6.7 million arrivals, three percent more than a year earlier, while 1.57 million visitors came from within Czechia.The number of overnight stays in the capital rose by 3.9 percent to almost 19 million. Tourists from Germany formed the largest group, followed by visitors from the United States and Britain. Prague attracted more than a third of all overnight guests nationwide, official data show.
