Police will monitor adherence to ban on fireworks in historic centre

Police will be out in force to monitor adherence to the ban on fireworks in the historic centre and other parts of Prague on new Year's Eve. Violation of the ban, introduced in 2020, is punishable by a fine of CZK 10 000 on the spot and up to ten times that amount in administrative proceedings. According to the decree fireworks are banned in the historic city centre, around Prague’s islands, nature reserves and areas less than a quarter of a kilometre from health facilities, homes for the elderly, the zoo and animal shelters. The map of areas where fireworks are banned can be found on the web site praha.eu.
