Petra Kvitová out of US Open

Czech tennis player Petra Kvitová has failed to reach the quarterfinals of the US Open. The Czech No.6 seed was unable to convert four of her match balls and lost to Shelby Rogers 6-7, 6-3 and 6-7 in two hours and 39 minutes.

The only Czech to remain in the New York tournament is Karolína Muchová, who is due to face Victoria Azarenka of Belarus on Monday for a place in the quarter-finals.
