Petr Pavel leads latest polls ahead of second round of presidential elections
Former Czech Army officer and NATO official Petr Pavel would defeat ANO leader and former Prime Minister Andrej Babiš in the second round of the presidential election next weekend with 57.7 percent of the vote, according to the latest poll by STEM agency for CNN Prima News published on Sunday. Mr Babiš would receive 42.4 percent. According to STEM, the turnout would be 68 percent.
A poll by Data Collect and Kantar CZ for Czech Television published on Saturday also favours Mr Pavel. According to that poll, 46 percent of people would definitely vote for Mr Pavel, while seven percent would rather vote for him than for his opponent. Some 29 percent of voters would definitely vote for Mr Babiš and nine percent would rather vote for him.
