Peregrine falcons nest again in Žďárské vrchy after 70 years

For the first time since 1956, peregrine falcons have returned to nest in the Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area in central Czechia. Conservationists have confirmed that the birds are nesting on the rock formation known as "Čtyři palice". To protect the endangered raptors, visitors are asked to respect the restricted zone marked with tape around all access paths. The popular blue hiking trail remains open, but access to the rock is prohibited until the end of June. The nesting site was discovered thanks to a climber who noticed the egg and alerted authorities.
