Pavel opened Plečnik exhibition in Bratislava alongside regional leaders

Czech President Petr Pavel inaugurated in Bratislava an exhibition dedicated to Slovene architect Josip Plečnik (1872–1957), together with his Slovak, Slovene, and Austrian counterparts. Plečnik spent part of his career in Prague, shaping the appearance of Prague Castle and designing the Church of the Most Sacred Heart at Jiřího z Poděbrad Square. Pavel praised him as a symbol of Central European cultural ties. The exhibition, hosted by the Slovak National Museum, highlights Plečnik’s works in Vienna, Ljubljana, and Prague, as well as those of his pupils. It runs until the end of June 2026 and includes items loaned from Prague Castle.
