Over 10,000 Covid cases confirmed Wednesday

Some 9,034 first-time cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the Czech Republic on Wednesday, while 1,678 reinfections were also confirmed. This was a total of around 700 higher than on the same day a week earlier.

The number of people in hospital with the coronavirus continued to fall and stood at 2,228 on Wednesday. One-hundred and 42 patients are in a critical condition.

The seven-day case incidence rate was below 500 per 100,000 for the second day in a row. The reproduction number is below one, signalling a slowdown in the spread of the virus.
