Friday sees lowest weekday Covid tally of year

Some 4,150 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in the Czech Republic on Saturday, which is the lowest weekday tally seen this year. The number was around 1,800 down on that recorded on the same day a week earlier. Suspected repeat infections were at 797, roughly 300 fewer week-on-week. The number of tests has also fallen.

The seven-day case incidence rate fell to below 300 per 100,000, at 298.

There were 1,439 people in hospital with Covid, down 340 on seven days earlier. Ninety-one were in a critical condition.
