Outgoing coalition may call another parliamentary session over Babiš conflict of interest

The parties of the outgoing coalition say they will call another extraordinary session of the lower house if Andrej Babiš fails to explain how he would handle his conflict of interest as a potential prime minister in a satisfactory manner. Outgoing Environment Minister Petr Hladík said that if Babiš “tries to wear everyone down with talk,” they are ready to convene another meeting, adding that resolving the conflict of interest is not a private matter but affects every Czech citizen.

Babiš has promised to provide an explanation to the public shortly before being appointed head of government, but has not indicated when that might be.
