Office of President inspected after reported shredding of classified documents

The National Security Authority has begun an inspection of the Office of the President in connection with its handling of classified information. At the start of February the lower house’s Security Committee recommended that the authority and the Ministry of the Interior carry out such checks following reports that the Office of the President had shredded a classified report on Russian secret services involvement in explosions at a Czech munitions depot in 2014.

The National Security Authority inspection is expected to last two or three weeks.
