Numbers indicate Covid epidemic slowing down in Czechia

Friday saw 12,386 people test positive for Covid-19 in the Czech Republic, around 5,300 fewer than on the same day last week and the lowest working day number registered since mid-November. The weekly incidence rate has thus fallen below 900 cases per 100,000 people.

A total of 6,222 coronavirus infected individuals currently require hospitalisation in the country, of which 1,067 are in serious condition. Friday saw hospitalisations at their lowest in two weeks.

Close to 95,000 vaccine doses were applied on Friday, bringing the overall percentage of vaccinated individuals in the country up to 62.9 percent.
