Number of new coronavirus cases rose sharply on Tuesday
Tuesday saw 15,672 people test positive for the coronavirus in the Czech Republic, the highest number since January 6 and a significant day-on-day rise from Monday’s 11,391. The number of people requiring hospitalised fell slightly, while there continue to be around 1,400 people requiring intensive care. The capacity of intensive care units is 85 percent full according to the chief hospital bed coordinator.
The government is planning to discuss testing in companies and the return of pupils into schools.
