Number in critical condition with Covid nearing record

The number of people in a critical condition with Covid-19 in the Czech Republic stands at 1,196 – the second highest figure since the pandemic hit the country. On November 3 there were 1,200 such patients in ICUs. A total of 6,171 people are currently hospitalised with the virus.

Some 12,486 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the Czech Republic on Tuesday, which is the biggest one-day jump since January 8.

The national coronavirus risk index stands at 72 out of 100, which is a slight fall. However the reproduction number has risen to 1.08.
