Freak accident leaves truck trapped under Prague railway bridge

A freak accident in Prague's Krč district left a truck carrying a drilling rig wedged beneath a railway bridge for more than 24 hours. Firefighters finally managed to free the vehicle shortly before midnight on Thursday, using two heavy recovery tanks and additional equipment. Earlier attempts had failed, partly because one of the recovery vehicles broke down. Crews continued dismantling the truck overnight to remove it from beneath the bridge. The unusual incident caused major traffic disruption on the Prague's busy Vídeňská street, affecting both motorists and several public bus routes.
