Czechia takes centre stage at Frankfurt Book Fair
The 78th Frankfurt Book Fair, the world’s largest event of its kind, will be officially opened on Tuesday evening, with Czechia this year’s guest of honour. Around 70 Czech authors will represent the country, which is presenting itself under the motto “A Country on the Coast”. The opening ceremony will feature Czech singer Iva Bittová, while writers Radka Denemarková and Marie Iljašenko will read from their works. The fair opens to publishing professionals on Wednesday and to the general public on Friday. More than 1,000 speakers will appear across ten stages before the event closes on Sunday.
