Prague Zoo celebrates 95th anniversary with 1930s-themed programme

Prague Zoo is celebrating 95 years since it opened today. The anniversary programme will feature period costumes, vintage vehicles, swing music and newspapers highlighting important moments in the zoo’s history.

Prague Zoo opened in 1931 and has since become one of the city’s best-known institutions. The celebrations will also mark 15 years of the Return of the Wild Horses project, which has helped return Przewalski’s horses to the wild in Central Asia.

A new photographic exhibition will also present key moments from the zoo’s 95-year history.
