363 infected, 50 hospitalized in outbreak at Prague primary school

Prague’s public health authorities have reported 363 people infected in an outbreak at a primary school in Újezd nad Lesy, with 50 requiring hospital treatment. Police have also launched criminal proceedings in connection with the case.

The outbreak may be linked to expired eggs, according to earlier reports by Novinky. A number of children fell ill after eating spaghetti carbonara served at the local school canteen. The school is currently closed and could reopen on Tuesday, September 29.

Cases have also been reported at the Sluníčko and Čentická kindergartens, as well as among several elderly people. Meals from the school canteen are delivered to both kindergartens and to the elderly.
