Government approves pension increases for next year

The government has agreed to increase pensions from January, with the average monthly pension set to rise by CZK 304. It has also approved a one-off payment of CZK 2,000 for pensioners, Labour and Social Affairs Minister Aleš Juchelka (ANO) said after Monday’s cabinet meeting.

According to Juchelka, the measures are intended to preserve pensioners’ purchasing power while limiting future costs to the pension system. The government approved the pension changes alongside the draft state budget for next year.
