6 grams wins top prize at Czech comedy film festival

The film 6 grams, directed by Miroslav Ondruš, has won the main Golden Prim award at the Czech Film Comedy Festival in Nové Město nad Metují. The seven-day festival presented 12 Czech comedies in competition, alongside meetings with filmmakers and other events. Two audience awards were also presented. Jan Svěrák’s comedy Pět švestek won the traditional Nové Město Pot of Laughter, awarded according to the amount of time audiences spend laughing. Laughter accounted for 27.8 percent of its screening time. A second audience award, based on viewers’ votes, went to Martin Horský’s Někdo to rád v Plzni.
