Czech tennis team beats USA to reach Davis Cup finals
The Czech tennis team has beaten the United States 3-2 in Prague to qualify for the Davis Cup Final 8 for the second consecutive year. Jiří Lehečka secured the decisive point by defeating Learner Tien 6-3, 7-5 at the O2 Arena. Earlier, Jakub Menšík kept the Czechs in contention with a 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 victory over world number four Ben Shelton. The Americans had taken a 2-1 lead after winning Saturday’s doubles. The Czechs also came from 2-1 down against the United States in last year’s qualifying round. The Final 8 will take place in Bologna from November 24 to 29.
