Boršice named Czech Village of the Year 2026
Boršice in the Zlín Region has been named Czech Village of the Year 2026, beating 244 other municipalities. Judges praised the village for its care for residents, public spaces and infrastructure, as well as its strong community life. Boršice, home to around 2,200 people, also impressed the jury with support for families and seniors and cooperation between local farmers and the school canteen. Vraclav in the Pardubice Region finished second, while Všeruby in the Plzeň Region came third. Boršice will receive CZK 1.6 million and advance to the European Village Renewal Award competition.
