NATO troops taking part in Ample Strike exercise in Czechia

Around 760 troops from 17 NATO countries are currently in the Czech Republic taking part in one of the alliance's largest air exercises, Ample Strike.

The exercise scenarios are based on real combat situations, drawing on the war in Ukraine. The simulations are designed to be as realistic as possible, with troops operating under pressure.

The two-week exercise ends on Friday, September 18. Ample Strike is held every two years and focuses on training forward air controllers – troops who operate directly on the battlefield and coordinate between ground units and aircraft.
