Night of Literature festival opens in Prague

The Prague edition of the annual Night of Literature festival opens in Holešovice on Wednesday, with events taking place at 23 venues. The festival, whose theme this year is “Navigating courage, inspired by stories”, is also being held in more than 100 towns and cities across Czechia.

In Prague, the programme will take place in former industrial buildings, galleries, a library and other unusual locations. Czech actors will read excerpts from contemporary European literature translated into Czech.

The festival has been organised by Czech Centres since 2006. This year, some of the readings will also be interpreted into Czech Sign Language.
