European Heritage Days open 669 historic sites across Czechia
The Czech edition of the European Heritage Days was officially launched on Saturday in the eastern Bohemian town of Chrudim. A total of 669 historic sites across Czechia are open to the public through the end of September, with 180 accompanying events also planned.
To take part, sites must offer free or voluntary admission, or provide a special activity. The programme includes not only officially protected monuments, but also buildings and other sites of local historical importance.
The European Heritage Days aim to make the country’s historical heritage more accessible to the public. They have been held in Czechia since 1992.
