Czech wage growth remained strong in second quarter

Wages in Czechia continued to rise rapidly in the second quarter, according to analysts surveyed by the Czech News Agency. They estimate that the average nominal wage increased by just over seven percent year-on-year, slightly slower than the 8.1 percent recorded in the first quarter. With inflation remaining relatively low, real wages are also expected to have risen, by around five percent. Analysts say the tight labour market continues to push salaries higher, although wage growth is likely to gradually slow. The Czech Statistical Office will publish the official second-quarter figures on Thursday.
