Czech economy grows by 1.9 percent in second quarter

The Czech economy grew by 1.9 percent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, according to figures released by the Czech Statistical Office on Friday. The office slightly revised down its preliminary estimate of two-percent growth published at the end of July. Compared with the previous quarter, gross domestic product increased by 0.4 percent. Household and government consumption, investment and foreign trade all contributed positively to year-on-year growth, while changes in inventories had a negative impact.
