Cameras to monitor more railway crossings in Czechia

The police is planning to install cameras at around 40 railway crossings across the Czech Republic, Novinky.cz reported. The footage will make it easier for police to penalise reckless and dangerous behavior. Not all rail crossings have security barriers and drivers often ignore red lights.

Around 200 people are killed in accidents at rail crossings annually. Since the beginning of this year alone, police have issued more than 700 fines for offences at railway crossings.
