Pavel Haas Quartet album shortlisted for Gramophone Awards

An album of Bohuslav Martinů’s String Quartets Nos. 2, 3, 5 and 7 performed by the Pavel Haas Quartet has been shortlisted for the 2026 Gramophone Awards. It is one of six recordings shortlisted in the chamber music category, among 66 recordings across 11 categories.

The British classical music magazine Gramophone, which presents the awards, praised the quartet’s taut playing, particularly its performance of Martinů’s Fifth Quartet, calling the album “yet another unmissable release.”

The Pavel Haas Quartet has already won five Gramophone Awards, including Recording of the Year in 2011 for its recording of Dvořák’s String Quartets Nos. 12 and 13. The winners will be announced in London on October 7.
