Students will once again pay more for apartment rentals

Students will once again have to pay more for apartment rentals this year. Those who want to find accommodation in a private apartment or shared housing instead of student dormitories should expect to pay up to 14% more in rent compared with last year. Students typically start looking for accommodation during the summer months before the beginning of the winter semester.

“In Prague, individual rooms were being offered on the Sreality.cz portal for 10% more than during the same period last year. In Brno, however, they cost roughly the same as they did last year,” said Hana Kontriš from Seznam.cz, which operates the Sreality.cz portal. The cheapest option is renting a bed in shared accommodation. The larger the apartment students rent together, the lower the cost of accommodation per person.
