Frosty night in the mountain regions before another hot day
Temperatures fell below freezing in Šumava in the early hours of Saturday, reaching minus two degrees Celsius at Rokytská slať in the Klatovy district, according to the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute. Other mountainous areas of Czechia also experienced a chilly morning. Temperatures dropped to zero at Jizerka in the Jizera Mountains, while only a few tenths of a degree above freezing were recorded in Jelení in the Ore Mountains.
In contrast, daytime temperatures will rise sharply, reaching 36 degrees Celsius in places. According to the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, Sunday will be even hotter before clouds gradually build up and rain arrives.
