Producer prices show mixed trends in June
Czech industrial producer prices rose 1.3 percent year-on-year in June, although the pace of growth slowed from May, according to the Czech Statistical Office. Agricultural producer prices continued to fall, dropping 13.5 percent from a year earlier, with lower prices for milk, pork, cereals and vegetables. Meanwhile, construction work became 4.1 percent more expensive and business service prices increased by 3.2 percent. Compared with May, producer prices declined in both agriculture and industry but edged up in construction and services. Producer prices are considered an important indicator of future consumer inflation.
