Czech rescue team continues searching rubble in Venezuela, experiences minor aftershock

A Czech rescue team of firefighters, structural engineers and search-and-rescue dog handlers with their dogs is continuing its systematic search of buildings that collapsed or were damaged in the recent devastating earthquake in Venezuela. The team is searching for survivors, assessing the structural stability of buildings, cooperating with Venezuelan authorities, and following up on information provided by local residents.

Early this morning local time, the Czech team experienced a minor aftershock. The tremor did not disrupt their operations, and all team members are safe. One of the rescue dogs suffered a minor injury, which was treated on site, Klára Ochmanová, spokesperson for the Czech Fire Rescue Service's General Directorate, told ČTK today.
