Fourteen Czechs to compete as Wimbledon gets under way

Wimbledon gets under way on Monday with 14 Czech players in the main draw, including recent grass-court title winners Linda Nosková, Karolína Muchová and Marie Bouzková. Czechia has six seeded players, led by ninth seed Nosková, 10th seed Muchová and 13th seed Jiří Lehečka.

Nosková, Muchová and Bouzková all arrive in London in winning form after claiming warm-up titles in Berlin, Bad Homburg and Nottingham respectively. They are joined by defending champion Barbora Krejčíková, who returns to Wimbledon after missing much of the season through injury.

Tomáš Macháč misses the tournament because of injury, while 2023 Wimbledon champion Markéta Vondroušová is serving a four-year ban after failing to provide a doping-control sample last year.
