Wimbledon kicks off with seven Czech players on court
Seven Czech tennis players will take to the courts on Monday, the opening day of Wimbledon. Among them is 2023 champion Markéta Vondroušová, facing 32nd seed McCartney Kessler of the US.
Jiří Lehečka, seeded 23rd, plays Bolivia’s Hugo Dellien, while Vít Kopřiva takes on Australian Jordan Thompson.
In the women’s draw, Linda Nosková meets American Bernarda Pera, Kateřina Siniaková faces fifth seed Zheng Qinwen of China, and Marie Bouzková plays Lulu Sun of New Zealand. Linda Fruhvirtová, fresh from qualifying, goes up against Belgium’s Elise Mertens.
