Temperature records broken in many parts of country
Temperature records were broken on Saturday at 59 of the 171 weather stations in Czechia that have been recording data for at least 30 years, the Czech Hydro-meteorological Institute reported. The highest temperature, 36 degrees Celsius, was recorded in Šternberk in the Olomouc Region, though temperature measurements have only been taken there for four years.
Meteorologists recorded the second-highest temperature, 35.4 degrees Celsius, in Strážnice in the Hodonín area in southern Moravia. A record for June 20 was also set there.
