2022 fifth hottest year in Prague since 1775

The past year was the fifth warmest ever recorded at Prague’s Klementinum, the oldest Czech monitoring station, the Czech Hydro-Meteorological Institute reported on its website on Wednesday.

The average temperature in the Czech capital for the past twelve months reached 12.4 degrees Celsius, the fifth highest since measurements began in 1775.

The last day of 2022 saw a record-high temperature for the month of December, with the temperature in the Klementinum reaching 14.3 degrees Celsius.
