Health Minister: Preventive care participation bonus could reach thousands crowns
A contribution for participation in preventive healthcare could amount to several thousand crowns, according to Health Minister Adam Vojtěch. Insurance companies could compete with each other through the amount offered. He said this at today’s debate organized by Seznam Zprávy platform. About half of the population in Czechia attends preventive check-ups with general practitioners, and even fewer take part in screenings for early cancer detection.
“Participation in preventive programmes is strongly influenced by socioeconomic status. We expect this could help bring low-income groups more into prevention,” Vojtěch said. According to him, it is crucial that the contribution is not tied to individual applications but is automatically paid to people’s accounts.
