Czechs win silver at world junior ice hockey championship

After losing 4–2 to Sweden in the final, the Czech under-20 ice hockey team won silver at the World Junior Championship in St. Paul. Sweden completed a flawless tournament, winning all seven games and claiming their third junior world title. The Czechs, coached by Patrik Augusta, scored twice late in the game during a power play but were unable to turn the match around. Despite the defeat, the team extended its medal streak to four consecutive years, adding a second silver to two previous bronze medals and confirming its strong position among the world’s top junior teams.
