Prague public transport switches to winter schedule with longer intervals

Prague’s public transport has moved to a winter operating schedule, with longer intervals on most services until March. All tram lines, 56 bus routes and trolleybuses serving Václav Havel Airport are now running less frequently, while metro services remain unchanged this year. During peak hours, tram intervals have been extended from eight to ten minutes, and from four to five minutes on major routes 9, 17 and 22. Morning bus intervals are also longer. The system operator Prague Integrated Transport says the changes reflect lower passenger demand, which is typically up to 15 percent lower at the start of the year.
