Opposition senators call on Babiš to make clear to Okamura that he is harming Czechia

The chairmen of the Senate caucuses of ODS and TOP 09, STAN, KDU-ČSL, SEN 21 and the Pirates jointly called on Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO) to make it clear to Tomio Okamura, the head of the Chamber of Deputies and the governing SPD movement, that his statements regarding Ukraine harm the Czech Republic and are incompatible with the responsible performance of the highest constitutional offices as well as with the declared principles of the foreign policy of the current ANO, SPD and Motorists government. Opposition politicians distanced themselves from Okamura’s remarks, which were made in his New Year’s address. In a statement issued on Sunday and sent by representatives of four Senate caucuses to the Czech News Agency (ČTK), they described them as scandalous.
