2025 was 13th warmest year in Czechia in 65 years

Last year, with an average temperature of 8.8 degrees Celsius, was the fourth coldest of the past decade. However, in a longer-term comparison dating back to 1961 (when meteorologists began calculating average annual temperatures in the country) it still ranked among the warmer years. It was the 13th warmest year on record, according to preliminary data from the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (CHMI) published on Facebook. According to the same data, 2025 was also a dry year, with the average annual precipitation total being the seventh lowest since 1961.
