Outgoing PM Fiala publishes state of the nation report to ensure smooth transition
Outgoing Prime Minister Petr Fiala (Civic Democrats) has published a report on the state of the country, which he will hand over to his successor, ANO party leader Andrej Babiš, during Monday’s change of government. Fiala said on X the document was meant to allow Czechia to continue without chaos and stressed the country is in very good shape. The nearly 80-page report, titled Czechia 2025, outlines what Fiala’s cabinet inherited from the previous Babiš government and what it is passing on. Fiala said it is not campaign material but a factual overview of budgets, reforms and international standing. His caretaker cabinet will be replaced by a government formed by ANO, the Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD) party and the Motorists' party.
